Partner:

Canadian Space Agency (CSA)

Key Mandate and Goals:

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) supports initiatives and activities in industry, universities and research organizations to further enhance sustainable economic development throughout the country. Transferring space technologies to terrestrial applications is an important objective of CSA.

The objectives of the Canadian Space Program (CSP), announced in June 1994, are to develop and apply space S&T to meet the needs of Canadians and to stimulate an internationally competitive space industry. More than 85 percent of CSP's funding is contracted to Canadian industry and scientific organizations.

Key Technology Transfer and Development Mechanisms:

The CSA Technology Diffusion Program was initiated to promote the exploitation of space technologies, particularly for non-space products and services. The Space Technology Program manages the CSA intellectual properties and commercialization activities. A list of technologies available for transfer is maintained at the CSA web site.
